May 3-5th saw the return of Mailspeed as event sponser to the May Bank Holiday IRC and sportsboat regatta hosted by Pwllheli Sailing Club. Following a successful winter hosting the joint Liverpool Yacht Club/Pwllheli Sailing Club winter series, this was the first main event of the new season for those not braving the cooler months. With entries planning the trip over to the Saab Irish National Champoinships in Howth two weeks later, it was an opportunity for the crews to get back together after the winter break. The event was enjoyed by all involved and captured on camera by Andy Green from Totally Abersoch. To view his full range of images CLICK HERE

Hell’s Mouth (Porth Neigwl) is a hugely popular, internationally renowned surf spot that is located only minutes from the village. When it “goes off” it attracts surfers from far and wide. This week has seen some good swell and the great and good of Abersoch’s surf community made their way down to the water to test out their skills. Grumpy Old Surfer Gordon was on had to take some shots and he had uploaded them to his website www.grumpyoldsurfer.co.uk Gordon lives in the area with his wife and little girl and can often be seen snapping away on the shoreline so go and say hello if you se him. Gordon has also recently created a clothing line featuring the Grumpy Old Surfer logos, which includes hoodies, tees, hats and children’s wear so go to the website and check them out.

John from Totally Abersoch was out on the water over the weekend and he and his friend Paul were able to capture some amazing shots of dolphins playing including a fabulous shot of one out of the water and one with a youngster. We always stress that you should not get too close to the dolphins. Paul was able to capture these shots on camera using a long lens and kept to a safe distance, however, we are once again hearing reports that people are getting very close to where they are feeding. Please keep your distance - we want the dolphins to remain in the waters around Abersoch for everyone to enjoy them. Check out the full range of shots by clicking here.
