Abersoch TIC Opening
by Bex Tappin 20 / 09 / 2009
At the beginning of the summer Abersoch Tourist Information
Centre moved to a great new location next to the Chapel in the centre of the
village. It has already provided a great service throughout the 2009 summer in
its new location, however the new Tourist Information Centre was officially
opened in Abersoch on Saturday. The event was very well attended by a variety
of people from around the village. Visitors and local business owners were keen
to support the official opening of something which is very central to village
life. The tourism minister for Wales, Alun Ffred Jones was present at the opening and
gave a stirring speech about the importance of tourism to the area and
maintaining a physical presence in the village during an age of recession and
internet tourism. John Gosling, owner of local boutique B&B and restaurant Goslings was also
present at the opening. He has been instrumental in the development of
the new centre and thanked all those who had helped to prepare for the opening
and encouraged local businesses to make the most of the extended tourist season
through the new Tourist Information Centre, which has great disabled access and
cannot be missed on the one way system. John told us " We have a great
morning and the opening has proved to be very successful. It has been attended
by a number of key figures in the tourism industry for North Wales." It was a lovely morning enjoyed by many. It showed the true village spirit of
Abersoch that not many people manage to see during the busy summer months.
Hopefully visitors and locals will make full use of the new Tourist Information
Centre and all the services it has on offer. For more information and for the
opening times call 01758 712 929 or pop in and see for yourself. The TIC will
be open every day throughout September and five days a week from that point
onwards. So pop in and get hold of all the information you need to enjoy
Abersoch and all it has to offer.
