Stunning Landscapes

If you have picked up a copy
of the autumn issue of Abersoch Sensation Magazine you will have seen some
stunning images in the Snowdonia National Parks article from landscape
photographer Derek Fogg. We approached Derek to submit some images for the magazine
after coming across his website www.britishlandscapes.com when browsing online.
Derek has been interested in
photography since he was a teenager when he won a Brownie camera in a raffle on
holiday. His interest began then and has developed over the years. He has
always loved taking shots of landscapes but not so much people! He loves
walking as a way of keeping fit and his walks have taken him to some of the
most stunning locations in the British Isles.
Derek made the switch to
producing digital images back in 2001 and around the same time he began to
spend weekends in Snowdonia. With so much scenery worth shooting in the region,
his portfolio of Snowdonia images grew and grew. His photography obsession got
stronger and he branched out to shoot the wider British Isles. Derek then made
the decision to create a website to support his portfolio www.britishlandscapes.com.
He went on to win the
Snowdonia Society Photographic competition with winter image of Snowdon
Horseshoe.
Derek is recently retired and is now able to spend more time indulging in his
favourite hobby. Over the next few years he hopes to expand his portfolio
further whilst travelling and walking all over the UK. He is looking to capture
other areas, particularly the National Parks and the Areas of Outstanding
Beauty such as the Lakes and the Peak District. He has a real love for the
landscape of Snowdonia but is now looking to shoot the west coast of Scotland,
which he visits twice a year.
His ambition is to tour and
photograph the whole of the British coastline in the not too distant future,
now that he has more time on his hands. You can view a sample of Derek’s images
on his great website www.britishlandscapes.com where you can see some great shots of Snowdonia and much further afield.
At this present moment in
time Derek is looking for opportunities to exhibit images in suitable
locations, for example in galleries, hotels, restaurants and other business
premises. Check out the site today and if you are interested in the chance to
display what you see on the walls of your business premises all enquiries
should initially be sent to info@britishlandscapes.com where they will be seriously considered.
We hope to include more of
Derek’s images in future issues of the magazine so look out for them.
