GREAT NEW RESTAURANT - THE DINING ROOM
There is a fab new restaurant opening in Abersoch this weekend. Many of you will know Si and his wife Jo Toft. Si was formerly the chef in Angelina’s and Jo worked in White Stuff on the High Street. The newly married couple have been looking for a premises to open a restaurant and when the opportunity arose to take on the space that was formerly Gosling’s Restaurant, the pair jumped at the chance. After weeks of hard work, the restaurant will open this bank holiday weekend. The Dining Room, as it will be known, will feature a menu of simple seasonal dished with the emphasis on fish. With beautiful views over Abersoch Bay and the St. Tudwal’s Islands, The Dining Room is the perfect location to enjoy seafood, so from Friday 7th May they will be hosting 'Fish Friday' every week. The Fish Friday menu takes inspiration from the traditional British fish night, and will be a set menu featuring pint sized portions of their favourite fish dishes, sharing platters and a few surprises. This will run alongside the usual menu so you can still go along with your carnivorous friends! Coming soon to the restaurant will be the Flavour of the Month evenings which will celebrate the current month's seasonal produce with a set menu, and recipe cards available for guests to take home. The set menu will act as an introduction to some of the seasonal ingredients that will be featuring heavily on the full menu in the coming weeks.
Si intends to change the menu weekly to make the most of what’s in season and to provide guests with varying choices.

Starters
Smoked haddock Sc’egg with asparagus soldiers
Terrine of smoked mackerel with pickled vegetables and crusty bread
Watercress soup with lemon and poppy seed mascarpone
Chicken liver and wild mushroom pate with pickled walnuts and crusty bread
Garlic roasted plum tomatoes, red onion and tarragon on toast
Mains
Chargrilled ribeye of Welsh beef with stilton cream, sautéed wild mushrooms and tarragon butter
Grilled fillets of bream with garlic, parsley and tarragon wild mushrooms
Pan roasted duck breast with butternut squash, parsnip and honey puree, buttered kale and vegetable crisps
Pan fried fillet of sea trout with warm samphire and chervil salad, bacon bits and a cherry tomato and mint butter
Pan roasted chicken breast with watercress salad and chilled broad bean and mint puree
Dressed Aberdaron crab salad with tartare sauce, cornichons and warm crème fraiche and herb potato salad
Baked Pont Gar cheese fondue with roasted garlic and rosemary baby potatoes, asparagus and redcurrant compote
Desserts
Welsh honey, lavender and milk jelly with clotted cream ice cream
Manchester pudding with raspberry compote
Bara brith and butter pudding with red berries and vanilla cream
Rich dark chocolate, pistachio and raspberry terrine
