WAKESTOCK LAUNCHES A NEW QUIET CAMPSITE AS MORE ACTS ARE ANNOUNCED

Over the next couple of weeks Wakestock have got loads of announcements to make including a stack more bands & DJ’s. It’s an exciting time with less than 2 months to go and as Roll Deep & Plan B (both confirmed this year) take the number 1 spot in the singles & album charts respectively.
Additions to the line up this week include THE FUTUREHEADS, who possess a whole arsenal of huge festival punk funk anthems. Their first single was released back in 2002 and achieved instant fame for the 4 piece from Sunderland. "Hounds of Love" is now an instant winner with any festival crowd. They have influences by an eclectic mix of the likes of Kate Bush, Fugazi, Devo, Queen and The Jam. Look out for The Beginning of the Twist & recent smash Heartbeat Song in amongst the Wakestock fun.
They will be joined by THE KING BLUES are one of the UK’s best loved punk underground bands. Zane Lowe is a big fan & their latest song ‘Headbutt’ is all over Radio 1. It is punk music as it was intended engaging and forward thinking, epitomized by their hit “I Got Love” and infectious “Save the World, Get the Girl”. Check out brand new material from new album 'Punk and Poetry' but this band knows how to get the crowd going in a big way.
FRANKIE & THE HEARTSTRINGS are touring this month in support of fellow North-Easterners, The Futureheads. They are a brand new old-fashioned pop band from Sunderland. The five-piece played their first gig a year ago and have been grafting solidly since, writing and rehearsing at night, holding down full-time jobs working in schools, social care and charity shops during the day! The band released their latest single “Tender” last month off the back of the great hit single “Hunger” and its looks like they will be pulling rather dramatically on your fragile little heartstrings right the way through 2010 and especially when they perform at Wakestock this year.
BODYROX is the name for English house music DJ duo Jon Pearn and Nick Bridges. They will be joined by hot vocalist LUCIANA who first worked with them to create the massive club hit “Yeah Yeah” enjoying huge success with massive play in clubs around the world. With a string of big songs filling club-land, they’re just about to launch back into the mainstream with their next single collaboration with N-Dubz called “We Dance On” out at the end of this month.

Other announcements include the addition of the new Quiet Campsite - This will give the festival a whole new element that hasn’t before been available. Set next to the sea in a fantastic grassy 10 acre field, it benefits from being out of the main run of festival traffic & footfall but nice and close to the car park, with an unbeatable view overlooking Llanbedrog Beach, Cardigan Bay and across to the famous St. Tudwal’s Islands. The festival site is just over a 5 minute walk and the beach only 2 minutes away, but the main benefit that will make this a very popular option is that it has a strict quiet policy that comes into effect at 11pm each evening.
There is a manned crossing point from the car park & a good route to the beach. Toilets & showers in the quiet campsite will be similar to the VIP & a healthy food & drink stall within the site too. 24 hour security is provided and the site opens at 1pm on Thursday 1st & closes on Monday 5th July at 1pm.
Tickets are £140 each and are available to buy now. The site is not too far from Llanbedrog and the Glyn y Weddw pub.

Single night camping tickets are also now available. This is a first for the festival and will allow people to buy a single day ticket & a camping ticket together. There are many reasons why people can only be part of the festival for one day. You can choose which day & night you’d like to stay and if you want to just go to the festival on the Friday you can take advantage of Thursday night camping too. All options are £65 and available to buy now.

Don’t forget, getting to Relentless Wakestock couldn’t be simpler this year – you can pre-book coach travel direct to the festival from a number of locations across the UK with Big Green Coach Company and National Express, and also direct buses between Bangor Station and the festival site. It will make life very easy for you and of course there are loads of festival shuttle buses running between the festival site & both Pwllheli, where the wakeboarding takes place and Abersoch.
More acts will be announced next week as well as the individual day line-ups on each stage.
